Expert Physiotherapist
Medico-Legal opinion
Holly King’s extensive clinical experience, collaboration with pioneers in amputee care, and education as an expert witness form a strong foundation for providing expert physiotherapy medico-legal evidence in cases involving amputees. With over a decade of serving as an expert witness and training in expert witness report writing and courtroom skills at Bond Solon, Holly brings a wealth of knowledge to her role.
She provides comprehensive physiotherapy expert reports that include a detailed objective examination of not only the amputation but also the whole body, supported with measurable evidence. The findings from subjective and objective assessments are integrated with current research literature to formulate Holly’s clinical analysis and opinions.
Her reports include recommendations for the provision of physiotherapy and exercise rehabilitation services, detailing associated costs and timescales. Typically, these physiotherapy reports are completed within 10 days following the client’s examination.
Assessments are offered from HK Physio clinical rooms in East Devon, at Harborne Hospital, Mindelsohn Way, Birmingham, B15 2FQ or Mint Wellbeing, 54 Russell Road, Wimbledon
London, SW19 1QL.
Holly is pioneering a paradigm shift in the provision of expert evidence, centring the claimant at the heart of what we do. Holly recognises the profound and long-lasting destructive psychological and emotional impact that medico-legal claims can have on the claimant. Reliving the trauma for the purpose of litigation can re-traumatise the claimant. Holly proposes that in general, and in particular where liability is admitted, there is usually no need for expert witnesses to ask the claimant about the events preceding, during and immediately after the index injury, thereby reducing the risk of re-traumatisation and providing better engagement and a superior medico-legal report.
Reframing the medico-legal assessment to the present history maximises the opportunity to achieve a positive outcome for the expert witness report, the claimant, and the instructing party. Importantly, it avoids the need for the claimant and their family to relive the worst events of their lives thereby curtailing the risk of causing avoidable additional distress.
